US Cyber Operations Suspended Amid Changing Strategy
The United States has halted its offensive US Cyber Operationsa gainst Russia, a move that a senior official described as a significant setback. The decision, which affects both active operations and future planning, could leave the US more vulnerable to cyberattacks from Moscow. Russia has a well-established network of hackers capable of targeting American infrastructure and intelligence assets, making the pause in operations a critical security concern. Despite the suspension of offensive cyber operations, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) reassured the public that its mission remains unchanged. CISA reiterated that it continues to defend critical infrastructure from cyber threats, including those from Russia. The agency dismissed reports suggesting a shift in focus, stating that any claims to the contrary were misleading and harmful to national security.
