Commvault, a prominent player in the field of cyber resilience and data protection for hybrid cloud environments, has announced a significant expansion of its cybersecurity ecosystem. This development comes through strategic partnerships with several key players in the security sector: Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz. These new integrations are designed to enhance the security capabilities of joint customers, improving their ability to handle and recover from cyber threats across various environments.

Cybersecurity Ecosystem Strengthening Cyber Resilience Across Environments

The newly established integrations are pivotal in advancing cyber resilience for organizations operating in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. By integrating with Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz, Commvault aims to help its customers identify potential threats, understand sensitive data locations, and accelerate recovery processes. These bi-directional integrations provide users with the flexibility to utilize their preferred security and data protection solutions while enhancing their overall cyber resilience. Security operations teams will benefit from improved risk assessment, threat defense, and recovery capabilities.

Critical Need for Enhanced Security Measures

The timing of these integrations highlights an urgent need for improved cyber defense mechanisms. A recent GigaOm study commissioned by Commvault reveals a concerning landscape: only 13% of organizations are adequately prepared to defend against and swiftly recover from cyberattacks. Furthermore, while 54% of organizations express confidence in their recovery abilities, the findings underscore the critical need for advanced security solutions. For more insights, the 2024 Cyber Recovery Readiness Report provides detailed information on these findings.

Rajiv Kottomtharayil, Chief Product Officer at Commvault, emphasized the importance of these partnerships, stating, “Commvault is committed to partnering with industry leaders in cybersecurity, data security posture management (DSPM), and artificial intelligence (AI) with one goal in mind – to help customers advance their security posture. It takes a village to fight today’s cyber threats, and through these integrations, we help enable our customers to build a bridge towards true organizational resilience.”

The new integrations with Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz bring enhanced capabilities to Commvault’s cybersecurity offerings. Acante’s data access governance solution simplifies and accelerates secure data access, while Dasera’s DSPM solutions automate data security and governance. Google Cloud’s Threat Intelligence offers advanced threat visibility powered by AI, and Splunk provides enhanced threat detection and response through its analytics platform. Wiz contributes with its cloud security platform, offering clarity and visibility to secure cloud environments.

Ranga Rangachari, CEO and co-founder of Acante, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Commvault to help customers bolster their data resiliency by combining Commvault’s cutting-edge data protection technology with Acante’s data access governance solution.”

Similarly, Ani Chaudhuri, CEO and Cofounder of Dasera, noted, “Our DSPM solutions complement Commvault’s offerings and help to provide continuous monitoring and rapid remediation of data security risks.”
